SnagIt Screen Capture

I call very few programs indespensible - but there are a few.

SnagIt is an indespensible tool.  It captures your screens, your windows, or your graphic elements in a few clicks, making it possible for you to use them in almost any other application.

If you do a lot of graphics, or want to capture parts of your page for any reason, you can keep SnagIt open as a minimized window at all times.  Then all you need to do is press <CTRL>+<Shift>+P to capture any part of your screen.

Sure you can pick up your whole screen.  But it's the more complicated captures that make SnagIt indespensible.  You can tell it to select the active Window.  Or you can select a portion of a window.  For instance, you can set it to capture an entire menu structure or a single button.

My favorite capture is the extended window capture, in which you can create a new graphic that includes the entire window -- even the part that you cannot see on your screen.  This is great for capturing long web pages that you want to show as a single, complete graphic - either by printing it - or showing it on your screen.

You can also tell SnagIt to show your cursor - or to include the menus that are open while you work.

It's fast.  It's smart.  It's easy.  For $40, SnagIt is one of the best computer utilities on the market.
