In my recent newspaper column, I called to your attention the fact that Cell Phone SAR ratings seem to have been forgotten. These SAR ratings -- or 'specific absorbtion rates' tell us how much radiation is pushed into our bodies as we talk on our cell phones.
But I don't think we should let the SARs slide completely. When you buy a phone, you should be aware of what you're buying - and have the ability to compare the SARs of the phones you're considering. The cell phone companies won't give these statistics to you - so you're basically on your own.
Til now...
The lower the SAR (in W/kg), the better the rate. Higher SARs mean you get hit with more radiation.
BTW, I don't want to disuade you from buying a cell phone. (I use one myself.) I just want to help you be an informed technology consumer - so you can buy better.
