MacBook Air - Tips
I was quite impressed by the MacBook Air, as it has been designed with great attention to detail -- both for hardware and software. Here are a couple items to help you start quicker and be more productive:
- The single USB port is hidden behind a hinged panel on the right edge of the MacBook Air. (Apple calls this a flip-down port.)
- The default network is a wireless network. You need to change to a wired network if that’s how you want to connect. To connect to a wired network, you need an adapter (which comes with the MacBook Air) that lets you plug your network’s Cat5 network cable into the USB port of the MacBook Air.
- To turn on/off network access (to conserve on power, for instance), click on the AirPort icon near the top right of your screen. It looks like radio waves pointing upward.
